The measuring procedure of the oxygen analyzers of Dr. Thiedig be based on the electro-chemical reduction or oxidation of the appropriate measuring component and is converted in open three Elektrodenanordnung, with which the test electrode of the material under test one flows against directly. This world-wide singular measurement principle is clearly superior to other measuring procedures concerning the measuring accuracy, the reproducibility, response time and the wartungsfreundlichkeit.

A modification of the measuring procedure makes possible also the instrumentation collection of other components such as ozone, chlorine, hydrazine, cyanide and Peroxyessigsaeure.

As addition of the oxygen measurement in the beverage industry the equipment family Digox was supplemented around a CO 2 measuring system. This measuring system uses the infrared absorption of CO 2 for the determination of the CO 2 of partial pressure in beverages. Digox CO 2 is the world-wide only continuously measuring CO 2 - measuring instrument.

Measurement principle

The measurement principle of the DIGOX 5 is based on the cathodic reduction of the measuring component O 2 at a polarized electrode. The Thiedig sensor uses this measurement principle by means of a potentiostatic regulated arrangement of three electrodes.

This arrangement makes it possible in contrast to other measuring procedures to use the sample (material under test) than electrolyte and a measurement directly, without accomplishing diaphragm.

The diaphragmless sensor has many advantages opposite the diaphragm-covered sensors:
·The sensor works drift-free and reliably.
·The response time is extremely short by the direct contact with the material under test.
·The system permits, contrary to diaphragm sensors, an accurate temperature compensation within a wide range.
·System-dependently there is no zero drift.
The messempfindlichkeit of the sensor is at any time examinable.
 

Each electro-chemical sensor must be calibrated. Our Thiedig sensor is the only sensor, that
·without interruption of the measurement
·in the measuring medium
·with one calibration point within the measuring range

The hydrazine hydrate is often used for oxygen connection in the boiler enterprise, into heating systems and other corrosion endangered plants. For the correct employment of this substance it is useful in each case to know the current concentration of the hydrazine in solution continuously. The bases of the electro-chemical hydrazine measurement in the 60's in the Federal Institution for material testing in Berlin by Dr. Teske one compiled.
The analyzer manufactured by us after these realizations is very similarly developed the oxygen analyzer. The calibration takes place via iodometric titration.

In numerous power stations, in particular nuclear power stations the hydrazine measuring instruments of our house worked in the meantime.

 

For the continuous monitoring of ozone and chlorine in drinking and sewage systems are outstanding suitable the analyzers of the Digox offer - row.
The following applications are typical:
- monitoring of the ozonization/chlorination in the water purification
- monitoring of the ozonization/chlorination in the waste water treatment
- continuous monitoring on remainder-ozone-pure in the industrial water
The devices work in the bypass procedure.

The measurement principle uses the cathodic reduction oxidizing of a working measuring component. This electro-chemical process takes place at a polarized precious metal electrode according to the principle of the Amperometrie. The devices work after the open three-electrode measurement principle with a Potentiostaten. The measuring signal is drift-free and independent thereby of the composition of the material under test. The influence of temperature and flow of the material under test is compensated automatically.


The devices are calibrated by means of a calibration solution or on the basis a reference measurement.

The new, patented *) measuring instrument Digox 5 PES is a continuously measuring system for the monitoring and dosage of PES products in cleaning solutions. It helps substantially to guarantee the effect of the disinfection steps in CIP plants. Complex control of the cleaning equipment by intermittent laboratory methods is void.

At the same time Korrossionsschaeden are prevented by overdosing. The economy of the purification process is ensured and in addition the environment is relieved.

During the rinsing procedure the phase separation can be registered also with the Digox 5 PES.

Due to the insensitivity opposite Tensiden the system for the cleaning of plastic bottles is particularly suitable.

For the detection of PES products the durable Thiedig sensor - an open three Elekroden system - is used. Contrary to other measuring procedures with the Thiedig sensor the material under test than electrolyte is used - a diaphragm is void. Therefore the response times of the analysis system are extremely short, the results of measurement are stable and drift-free. There is also practically no cross-axis sensitivity to other oxidizing agents. The sensor is maintenance-free, since no electrolyte is used.
