Trace Sensor Technology

A polymer dielectric sensor provides capacitance technology for gaseous applications with dew point temperature above -15ºC. Interdigitated electrode fingers, a polymer layer, a porous protective metal layer, and a second polymer layer complete the construction of the capacitance sensor element (see illustration above). The capacitance of the polymer sensor is directly related to the relative humidity (RH) of gases. An integrated platinum temperature sensor accounts for the temperature dependence of RH.
