Ozone in air:

mass of ozone / volume of gas - Typically expressed as O³/m³ air or O³/m³ oxygen

mass of pzone / mass of gas - Typically expressed as a % by weight figure (used only for
                                              high concentrations)

volume of ozone / volume of gas - Typically expressed in ppm (used for low concentrations)

Ozone in water:

mass of ozone / volume of water - Expressed in g/m³ or mg/l (or ppm)

Universal law of gases - pV/T = nR = mR/M

where

P = pressure (mbar)
V = volume (cm³)
T = Temperature (degree K)
n = molar number = mass of gas (m) / molecular weight (M)
R = universal gas constant = k · NA = 8.31434 - J/mol · K = 83,143.4 -mbar·cm³/mol·K where

k = Boltzmann constant = 1.3806 · 10‾23-J/K
NA = Avogadro constant = 6.022 · 10² 3-1/mol

** UV absorption technique for ozone measurement gives ozone concentration
"C" :           C = mass of ozone / volume of carrier gas (typically g/m³ or mg/l)

** This value is measured at the temperature of measurement and at the pressure of measurement.

To convert a concentration "C¹" measured at a temperature "T¹" and a pressure "p¹" to a concentration at a different temperature and pressure (T², p²):

nR = p1V1/T1 = p² V² /T²
C¹ = mO³/V1     C² =  mO³/V²

C² = C¹ · T1p²/T²p¹

- Temperature in Kelvin; Pressure in millibar; Concentrations "C" expressed in mass of ozone per volume of gas

From                  C = mass O³ / volume carrier gas = mO³/Vc

to                       G = mass O³ / volume carrier gas = mO³/mc

mc = pc Vc Mc /Tc R -----»  mO³/mc = mO³ Tc R/Vc pc Mc

G = C x Tc R / pc Mc · 100%   for units in % by weight

From                     C = mass O³ / volume carrier gas = mO³/Vc

to                    V/V = volume O³ / volume carrier gas = Vo³/Vc

VO³ = mo³ · R To³ / Mo³ po³ -----» Vo³/Vc = mo³ To³ R /  Vc po³ Mo³

                  (Example: 12.8 g/m³ at std. conditions = 1%)

Convert O³ concentration from g/m³ to ppm by volume --- V/V = C · 1733 · T/p
